Would like to know if someone has fitted a rear
stone gaurd to a Toyota 80 Series Landcruiser, to prevent stones hitting the camping trailer then back onto the tailgate. Maybe if anybody has some ideas on how to mount the gaurd would be much appreciated.

A few campers had these on them when we were traveling to
William Creek from
Marree. It was raining at the time and the mud was sticking to the nets and making them drag on the ground.
Cheers Matt

had one made in AS after the the back window broke sorry do not have picture 2" angle mounts welded on each side of tow bar underneath, a full length of 2" angle from side to side, it had to have a bend and be cut out near centre of t/bar then bolted two mud flaps one each side it worked fine no more broken windows i still have the full length angle but nothing else
hope this helps cheers

Should have added that that
rock deflector/absorber, is standard, but we have the option of putting some really super strong matting in it for outback travels.
This keeps the manufacturers one at
home for the tamer areas.

Just another follow up.
These
home made "wank off/U-Beaut" mudflaps were more of a hinderence than a help.
They smashed my CT plug to bits,a nd had to be replaced at
Drysdale River Station, in the
Kimberley.
Bit too much, and a bit too heavy

Hi
We have used all sorts, have a
Rock Tamers now and this is pretty good, gets in the road a bit when you are accessing the back door.
The Rock Stompers (net) are good also but as indicated earlier are no good in the mud. Alos, a friend who we ttavelled with found that the area where the material goes around the bar close to the vehicle nearly wore through in the first trip so don't seem very durable.
In really stoney conditions we use a combination of
the Rock Tamers plus a cardboard box attackhed to the back window, cheap, effective and you can't see out the back on dusty road anyway
have fun
